Empathy Job Training programs are geared for people with developmental, learning, physical and intellectual disabilities or other medical issues. These programs include vocational training designed to prepare individuals for a variety of work environments. All of the programs are developed in collaboration with a Business Advisory Council so that they meet the needs of today’s businesses and are taught by caring, well trained staff who work closely with the participants. Mock interviews are also conducted during the training period to strengthen presentation skills for the interview process.

Special Support Program

Empathy Foundation constantly strives to support and empower individuals, particularly underprivileged children enabling them to meet basic ambitions of their life and realize their potential, make informed choices, resist oppression, fight for rightful existence and facilitate new possibilities and opportunities for them.

The Foundation takes up individual cases based on their immediate needs. These individuals are then given educational support, in individual capacity, who are at risk of discontinuing their studies due to impoverished circumstances and have exhibited outstanding academic record. Individuals suffering from any critical diseases are provided support for their health; specific cases are also taken for rehabilitation wherein they are given educational support, vocational training, entrepreneurship training, counseling and provision for aids and appliances.

Support for education and health is also provided to recognize those children who have performed outstanding deeds of bravery and selfless sacrifices including bravery award winners.

Empathy conduct various types of workshops as part of our services to employers to support hiring of persons with disability. These workshops are tailor-made to suit the requirements of the companyThis workshop aims at raising awareness among employers and peer groups about capabilities of persons with disability and how we can work together with the companies to create an inclusive environment at workplace. These sessions will be tailored according to the needs of the employers.

The employer outreach program is a long term collaboration with companies to ensure placement and retention of persons with disability. Here's how it is done:

Creation of Job Opportunity:

  • Profile job requirements
  • Providing business case for suitable jobs

We collaborate with companies to identify the types of jobs which can be performed by persons with disability. For the jobs identified, we work with the company and provide information on "how" the work would be carried out - i.e we provide information on the tools, accommodations, methods that would be used by the employee to accomplish the work.

Training, Placement and Services to company:

  • Provide awareness and sensitization for company employee
  • Provide assistance to create barrier free workplace for the disabled. Accessible training materials (in soft form, Braille or large font) for visually impaired, having Sign language interpreter during trainings for hearing impaired, having ramps for wheel chair users are some of the ways to make workplace accessible.
